What happened recently
In March 2026, Münster became the hub of the German data and AI community for three days.
Already on the first evening, with the start of the side events, the unique energy was back. Münster became d:u City and shone in purple and green – from Prinzipalmarkt to the harbor. Encounters and connections emerged everywhere. The city filled with a drive for implementation even before the festival officially began. Anyone who was there immediately felt: data:unplugged is far more than Europe's largest festival for data & AI. d:u is a movement that unites people with strong drive, incredible passion, and an absolute will to shape the future.
Mid-sized companies and tech corporations, data & AI experts and family businesses, corporate leaders & founders came together. People seeking concrete answers, sharing their own experiences, and wanting to learn from each other. At the heart of the German Mittelstand, on equal footing, and with the shared goal of making data and AI effective in companies, society, medicine, teams, and decision-making.

Our Story
The beginning of a movement.
It all began in a small podcast studio in Münster.
Two Münsterländer — Bernard and Marcel — wanted to create a place where real conversations about data and artificial intelligence arise.
The podcast quickly became more than just a format. It evolved into a community for people who are actively applying data and AI. People who ask questions, share experiences, and accelerate together. This is precisely what led to the realization: This energy needs a stage. This community needs a home.
And that's how the first data:unplugged came to be: d:u24.
